M&J Recycling parts and knives

Assessment and sourcing of parts, knives and wear items for pre-shredders and fine-shredders, based on the machine type and serial number.

Typical part groups

  • Shredder knives and knife holders
  • Cutting-table components and wear inserts
  • Mechanical components on the rotor and drive side
  • Hydraulic items: valves, cylinders and seals
  • Electrical parts, sensors and control components
  • Wear-resistant welding consumables for hardfacing restoration

Knife replacement or knife rebuild?

Wear on knives and the cutting table can often be addressed by rebuild welding, so a new part is not always necessary. After assessing the extent of wear we advise whether replacement or rebuilding is more economical.

What to send us

The machine type and serial number, the part number or a photo of the required item, and images of the worn surface. Where possible, a sample of the worn part also helps.

Frequently asked questions

What data is needed to order M&J knives?

The machine type and serial number, the knife position and the part number or a dimensioned photo of the existing knife. These let us identify the correct version.

Is a new knife or a rebuild more economical?

It depends on the extent of wear. After assessment we advise whether hardfacing rebuild welding or a new part is the better option for that item.

Do you also supply welding consumables for restoration?

We usually carry out the hardfacing work ourselves, but we can also assess wear-resistant welding consumable requirements if the restoration is done in your own workshop.

Can you supply a complete set of knives at once?

Yes, we assess the requirement from the machine type and knife positions. When replacing a full set it is worth inspecting the cutting table condition at the same time.
